Henrico Theater

Location: Richmond, VA
Construction Schedule: September 2006 - November 2007
Construction Value: $4,426,162

Description:

The Renovation of The Henrico Theatre consists of the total restoration of the 17,800 s.f. Art Deco structure, as well as, total replacement of the HVAC, electrical, plumbing system and installation of a Fire Protection System. The project included restoring the auditorium with all of Art Deco details, installing an orchestra pit, new stage with stage equipment, new seating and new audio-visual equipment.

The rear of the auditorium was carved out, added to the Lobby space and created an enlarged area for the rest facilities. A second floor was added in this area, with the added space providing a Reception Area with Caterers Kitchen, Handicap Rest Facility, and the Projection Booth. The existing second floor became the men and women’s lounge, storage space and provided an area for the elevator.

The exterior work for the project included parking facilities, underground site utilities, and of course, the restored Henrico Theatre Marquee.
